Dear Parents,
We have once again moved on to a new topic in science. We are now learning about scientific processes. This can be a bit challenging for some students so I encourage you to work and to explore with your child.
The scientific processes are important because they are basic skills need in science. They are also listed under our TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills). Students should be able to make decisions using information and tools.
Use the Materials to sort the objects. Are the objects waterproof why or why not. Use the information you have gathered to help you sort. This is fun stuff!
At BBC use your information on living and non living objects . Decide which are animals and which are non living. Remeber all the data you have collected on living and non living things.You can do it!
At Variation choose where the object belongs. Use the data you have about the categories to help you make you decision. Fun!
Enjoy using the scientific processes with your child. Exploring together is great and enjoyable.

Living and Non Living
Howdy Parents,
In science we are now studying living and non living things. Living things:
1. move
2.grow
3.eat
4. reproduce
Non living things:
1. don't need anything
2.don't eat
3. don't move or grow
4. don't reproduce
Learning about living and non living things are in our TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills), so we must learn about them. Students should be able to group living and non living objects.
Here are some great activities and games to work on with your child.
At BBC discover what is living and non living in the country side. Click on the "Where" to play the contry side activity. Use your mouse to find an item and read to see why it is living or non living. Fun!

We are now learning about cycles. We are learning about life cycles of many different topics, such as:
1. butterflies
2.frogs
3.plants
4. Weather
Learning about life cycles is very important because it is a part of our TEKS (Texas Essentials of Knowledge and Skills). your child should be able observe and record changes in life cycle of organisms.
Below are some fun and interesting activities you and your child can explore together. Have fun!
Watch this! Watch the life cycle of a butterfly. Use your arrow to move from picture to picture and read the information giving about each stage of life. It's cool!
Look at this! At life cycle of a frog you can not just move your arrow from picture to picture, you get to hear the sounds as well. This is fun!
This is fun to play. Play with Digger and Gang to see changes in the seasons. Not only does the weather change but so does their clothing and activities. Neat!
Hope both you and your child are enjoying the activities and games.

Dear Parents, We are currently studying insects in science.Our main focus in on the parts on the insect. The parts we are working on are:

2. Legs
3. Abdomen
4. Thorax
5. Wings
Learning about insects and their parts is a part of our science TEKS (Texas Knowledge and Skills). Students should be able to observe and describe parts on insects.
The following are some websites that you and your child can explore together. All of the sites are based on the topic of insects and their parts.
At Butterfly Facts, read about the parts of the butter fly and what they do. Move your arrow over the butterfly picture to view the labeled butterfly parts. This is neat.
This one is great! At the Seek 'n Find, try to find the name of all you favorite bug ans insects. There are not just insects listed so try to find those names first. I bet you can do it.
This one's simple. At the Dragonfly puzzle, all you need to do is put he puzzle together. Just simply move the puzzle pieces where you want them and connect together. What a cool picture it makes!
